Flameproofing Services
Dave Boucher spraying curtains
for flameproofing at a village hall
Curtains are sprayed whilst hung on both sides so there is no need to take them down and therefore no inconvenience. Dry cleaning will reduce the effectiveness of flame retardancy and after being dry cleaned 4/5 times they will require retreating. Treatment cannot withstand wet washing at all. The treatment renders the curtains flame retardant and complies with BSXXXX and BSZZZZ. A certificate of treatment is issued listing curtains and materials treated.

After treatment the curtains will be quite wet and will require a certain amount of drying time before they are handled. Approximate drying times are listed on the table below:
Lightweight curtains (e.g. linen, cotton, unlined)1-2 hours
Mediumweight unlined curtains2-3 hours
Heavyweight curtains (e.g. velvet, dralon)4 hours
Heavyweight lined curtains (e.g. velvet, dralon)6+ hours
