Curtains are sprayed whilst hung on both sides so there is no need to take them down and therefore no inconvenience. Drying times depend on the weight of the curtains, light cotton curtains can dry in 1-2 hours but heavier curtains such as lined velvet could take up to 6 hours, 2-3 hours is usual for most curtains of medium weight. Carpets & other suitable floor coverings are sprayed in situ and if thick will have to be quite well soaked by the process so drying times are often 24 hours or more, however lighter floor coverings such as rafia matting dry in 3-4 hours.
Mattresses can be treated and are usually sprayed on both sides and the edges whilst leaning against a wall. Drying times are usually 5-6 hours. Fire resistance is only achieved to the surface. Wood Furniture can be treated if unvarnished/polished so that the water based liquid can soak into the natural fibre of the wood. Wood varnishing can also be carried out which gives a flameproofed, varnished finish to the wood.
